TM spring 08 tour review (so far)

WHATS HAPPNEEEN? (c) ike floyd

so i been sitting in the car/venue/hotel for the past 12 or so days and havent really taken the time to hit up the blog about whats been going down. i figure since my peoples ask me hows it going a lot, and i went and set this site up, i might as well actually use it right???

1st stop was pittsburgh. the promoters were and are cool, we performed there for the 2nd time but this time we had green room love! yes!

(that doesnt mean groupies in the green room, that means ACCESS to the green room)

its funny, a lot of the times the green room is one of the jankiest spots in the whole venue, but being in there is a nice way to get your mind together and relax/calm down from jitters or get amped up to get on stage. so anyway the 1st time we didnt have green room love, and we had to get our own room. this time that was all taken care of and money wasnt funny (it wasnt the first time either). like i said the promoters/owners of shadow lounge are cool. im bad with names, but its only because i always meet so many people. the closing act was talking to the crowd like “ill punch you in the face if you dont clap along! make noise!!!”…hot damn. yikes. did anything funny happen? a colleague of ours, chuckfopres, bought us drinks, then said “so whos gonna buy me a drink!?!?!?” FOO’ YOU JUST BOUGHT 4 DRINKS AND WE GOT DRINK TICKETS! BWAHAHA

2nd show: baltimore
shout to missy, i remember her name because nicknames are a little easier to remember (i really need to work on my memory ima start taking ginkowhateverwhatshitscalled) anyway the club was in the HOOD. the HUAHHHHD. not the rap hood, the hood hood. che grand and spec boogie were down there, and they rolled to atlanta with us. anyway the club was in the hood but it wasnt no problems there. im sure they have problems doing our kind of hip hop shows there because id guess some people are afraid of that area. it was all love inside though. with that said, our hotel was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over therrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre lol…not in the hood. we woulda woke up to the rental car on bricks. haha…what was the story of this one…spec stayed up all night and basically slept through the show in atlanta. lol
so like i said spec boogie and che grand also went to atlanta for a3c, which was our 3rd show. when we got there jermiside joined us (he lives in atlanta) as you may have seen over on donwills blog, and we all recorded a song for the next red giants album then went on to the a3c spot. there were 2 stages which made everything confusing. we tried to get on the main stage and basically it was all up to the clipse to say if we could go on before them for a quick 20. they were ready to bang & boogie and i dont blame them, so we couldnt go on the main stage. thats not bad on their part, like i said i dont blame them! if im at the venue ready to go and someone is like “hey can i go before you while you wait for another half hour?” id be like “uh…” too. so we went on the small stage and did our thing. shout to 88 keys, torae, and supastition for being our special guests during our set. and shout to shake at 2dopeboyz! and adam at fat beats! and dj grain! etc…its some fine ass women in atlanta yo. not more than toronto though haha! story of this one: donwill asked the coordinator if there was any beer in the green room (because hes a drunk!!!) and she had a fit. “you see how open this green room is? there is no beer. were you promised beer? are you just trying to see what you can get?!?!!?” god bless her boyfriend.

next stop was new orleans. shout to gabe the promoter, this dude gave us his house and left. LEFT! we were basically 3 roomates in new orleans for 24 hours. him and his girl cooked for us and shit. it was good. lets rewind that…him and his girl cooked, then left. we didnt have a party full of naked groupies and trash his house or anything, we just ate up the food, used the internet, laughed at new orleans public access, slept, and left the next morning. hopefully the pictures we took with jesus and the bunny will appear online somewhere one day. donwill do you have those? the show was pretty good, there wasnt a lot of people there (somebody posted on okp there were 3 people there but that aint true!) but we had fun…rocked for the 20 or so people, got drunk for free off of the cute bartender bitty, went to our house (haha) and ate more free food. the next day we went through the devistation in the city. its crazy…unexplainable. its like i am legend out there for real. for miles and miles. youll see a wendys or like, a taco bell sign, but theres a gas station there. youll see 10 abandoned houses, windows blown out, door wide open. in the middle of that 10, theres one with a family in it.

from there we went to south carolina. ill continue this later, but let me leave you with some music…south carolina’s own danny! featuring me…this is called “i dont know” off of his album “and i love h.e.r. coming april 15th
i dont know

  1. You give good reviews.

Since you guys are on a path of ascension, the next tour should be chock-full of green rooms, WITH beer & groupies. It’s only right!

Forreal though, diehard TM fans ASSume that y’all are at LEAST getting hooked up with green room love/booze/packed venues because we appreciate the quality of your work, and ASSume that the world is hiding under a rock if they don’t love it too.

WOW @ the NOLA promoter! Just wow.

  2. “God bless her boyfriend”.

    Truuuuuuth.

    YAY for free food!

Have a safe tour, Peaster Bunny.

I love how I’m talking like I know you lol.

  3. There was no beer cause the volunteers were drinking it all. Volunteer= Free food and beers, if you werent caught. Forreal though, the cordinator was scary!
