So if you dont know already, Focus (producer of Dr Dre, Christina Aguilera, Busta, J Lo, etc) has this passion project he’s been working on called Pay Homage where he creates beats that sound like his favorite producers and then gets emcees to honor that producer. This idea is one I bet every producer has tried (at least making a beat that sounds like your favorite producer) but Focus has been nailing it every time in my opinion.

The EP (so far) features tributes to Primo, Pete Rock, Dilla, Dr. Dre (my favorite one because he did early death row era Dre), Rza, and Ali Shaheed from Tribe. The MCs are Royce the 5’9″, Little Brother, Kurupt, Stat Quo, Slum Village, Frank Nitt, Illa J, Sha Stimuli, Marsha Ambrosious, Crooked I, Jay Rock, theFEW, Cilvaringz, Blue Raspberry, Chaundon, and….Tanya Morgan!!!!!!

I’ve been a fan since the first Homage hit the internet so this was pretty much a dream come true.
