Red Bull space recap
So we were apart of a showcase tonight for CMJ. We performed only new music. so new that we opened with a song that isnt even on the album we’re about to put out (Tanya Morgan “You And What Army” coming this Thanksgiving, we promise) just because. anyway, this was good incentive for a lot of our peoples/fans to come out. we got to the door of the show and it was a big crowd of our folks trying to get in but the suckers at the door wouldnt let them in. now this was a free show so it wasnt a “get me inside” issue. it was simply “yo, they wont let us in, whats going on?!?!?!?!”
it was one of those fake “we’re at capacity” moves where its NOT even crowded upstairs yet theres an unnecessary line. we dont get down like that. im not on that fronting shit at all. a lot of our folks ended up leaving. it was a wack call on the venues behalf and thats never happened to us before, and it wont again.
the new music seemed to go over well though. the drama at the door actually took my mind off of being nervous about doing this new stuff. i’ll be honest with you, i always feel like “eh…this is good but we could do even better!” no matter what it is so i was scared to death about the new shit! its a big deal to me because we been doing the older stuff FOREVER at this point. its good.
you and what army is short though…9 joints. if you liked “the bridge ep” you’ll like army. its *kind of* the bridge part 2 but dont quote me. there’s more music coming shortly after that in like….february? that project is “rubber souls”. 2012 will be back to busy for us.
